If your idea of a perfect summer weekend involves slowing down, browsing through unique treasures, and discovering local makers, you are in for a treat today. We are taking a closer look at a hand-picked vintage boutique in town that is absolutely worth a slower lap, plus a Sunday afternoon makers market on Sheldon Road.

Whether you are hunting for a piece of refurbished furniture with some real character or just want to sit back and listen to live music at an Adkins Family Vineyards afternoon, we have plenty of inspiration for your weekend itinerary.

Garden Club Grows Plants, Friendships, And Service

The Gist: The Elk Grove Garden Club has grown from about 50 members at the start of the year to more than 70, helped in part by members from Gardeners of the Grove joining after that club dissolved. Members meet monthly at the Gil Albiani Recreation Center, share plants and gardening tips, and host guest speakers.

Why It Matters: This is the kind of local group that quietly makes Elk Grove feel more connected. The club supports community spaces, local organizations, scholarships, and projects like the Lichtenberger Rose Garden and the garden at Jerry Fox Swim Center.

Two Menus, One Local Favorite

9080 Laguna Main Street, Elk Grove, CA

Todo Un Poco has one of those menus that makes the table pause for a second. Mexican and Italian under one roof sounds unexpected, but this locally owned, family-operated bistro has made it work with a mix of traditional Mexican dishes, nuevo plates, pastas, pizzas, salads, sandwiches, brunch, a kids menu, wine, and a full bar.

It is the kind of place where one person can order enchiladas, another can land on pasta, and nobody has to compromise. The restaurant has also picked up local praise over the years, including Best Mexican, Best Pizza, and Best Italian nods from the Elk Grove Citizen.

A little bit of everything, right there in Laguna West.

Vintage Finds With Personality

9615 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA

Americana Vintage is built for the kind of shopper who likes a little story behind what they bring home. The boutique curates vintage and modern home goods, clothing, accessories, antiques, and one-of-a-kind pieces from its spot in Elk Grove.

There is a nice point of view to the place. Housewares and furniture are refurbished or revitalized, clothing is hand-picked, and the whole shop treats fashion and home design as something more personal than just filling a cart.

Go in with time to browse. That is usually how the good finds happen.
